She tells me I’m a viking.
And I celebrate each new day that the night brings.
Nestle into the gorse talk to the horses,
as the birds sing riding high on the wind.
Pick shrooms from the mountain,
she tells me I’m a viking.
My blood runs hundreds of years fast,
we came from the sea on clouds dip down as they pass,
masked and armoured.
Nature charms and disarms us,
and our hearts and souls lay buried where they found us.
Children of the hills our willpower stronger,
than the pull of the moon on the earth and no longer,
are we sword to sword, on my word it’s an honour,
when she tells me a viking and I sit here and ponder.
And I conclude as I lose myself in the dew,
and my boots stamp goodness in my health,
that the viking in me, is not as it seems,
because I stand and I lay claim to be a VIQUEEN.
Queen of the hills, queen of the earth,
queen of my innermost universe.
I’m queen of the sea and I’m queen of the dirt,
viqueen of the world when I gave birth.
So speak to the clouds, speak to the birds,
greet your ancestors cos they will nurture your purpose.
And I stand braced against the wind and I lean,
into my calling, as re-born viking queen.

Viking queen I lean in and I call,
to the viqueens who’d lay beside me if I fall,
and they’ll link fingers within weave the grass when it’s tall,
lining the halls with all the glory adorning the walls.
Fallen angels, bringing greatness to the table,
a fable belatedly relating from the cradle.
My viqueen sisters raise each other like wolves,
Feeling tides of emotion from the moon’s lunar pull.
Pulling on the low tide, pushing on the high,
dry and mighty rightly striking in the glare of my third eye.
Open like potion, broken like frozen,
ice in the eyes of the ones who were self chosen.
The ocean dodges, weaving with the water,
raising the gaze of her waves washing over her daughter,
like a lamb to the slaughter taught me lessons more,
to not losing sight of battles we won when we fought.
A wrought-iron gate, awaiting a newly written fate,
check-mate, make love not hate, because I know,
that she’s a viqueen too.
It takes one to know one from me to you.
